Jake| Birth To One Year and Cake Smash by Erin Kent Photography

Have I mentioned that one of the absolute joys of my job is watching your little ones blossom during that first year of life? Cause it is. It totally is. :)

When I decided to step out of the family area of photography (which was difficult for me) and concentrate more on the details of life, I knew that including the option for those milestone portraits throughout your little guy's or gal's first year would have to be included. There was just no way around it! Every moment in their little life is fleeting and precious but there's just something about that first year; first smiles, first coos, first laughs, first steps, first words. It's all so... beautiful! And, you can't get it back. It's gone once it's gone.

Lauren hired me to take Mr. Jake's six month photos... six months ago. ;) And, when she called me to capture his one year cake smash, I was thrilled! I couldn't wait to see how much he had grown! Boy, had he! It's interesting to see the little one's personalities take shape in just a matter of a few months. Jake was still just as mild tempered and sweet as he was at six months but with just a dash of spunk! He was a little taken aback by all of the photo snapping this time around!

We enjoyed a beautiful day out at The Mill, which I've so graciously received exclusive permission to utilize for EKP sessions, smashing cake, laughing and chatting about all of Jake's accomplishments throughout the past six months. If you haven't taken a moment to ride out and browse Michelle's shop and purchase some of her unique gifts and yummy treats, you really should. The Mill is a gem in Clarksville! One of those places that you have to visit and experience while you're here. And, when you do decide to ride out and take a look around, be sure to let her know that I sent you her way! :)

I hope you enjoy browsing through these one year images as much as I enjoyed capturing them. :)
